Palm Sunday
All children are invited to participate in the Palm Processionals at any of the three worship services on Sunday, April 1, 2007. To participate in the 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Traditional services meet in the Loggia beginning 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the service. To participate in 11:00 Common Ground service meet in the small dining room beginning 10 minutes prior to the service. North Texas Conference Summer Camp at Bridgeport Camp is a life-changing event! Each day at camp is filled with Christian fellowship, creative worship, dynamic music, fun games, team building activities, arts and crafts, family groups, and outdoor recreation. Your child will have an incredible week having fun, making life-long friends, and growing in their faith in Christ. At only $200 Bridgeport Camp is an incredible value. Come be a part of this year's performance
This summer, the music department will present Fiddler on the Roof, open to all ages - children, youth and adults. The dates are Friday through Saturday, August 9, 10 and 11. In 1980, Fiddler was done at Spring Valley - Charles and Nippy McManus' daughter (age 14) played the daughter who married the soldier. Ron Amberg played the fiddler. if you were in it we'd love to know about that. If you have an interest in these areas, please let us know:

Neighborhood Home Bible Study
We are studying Psalms. We have a 12-week study book selected costing $7. Call Elizabeth Escamilla to get a copy. The Bible Study is open to everyone. We start Thursday evenings at 7pm and finish at 8:30pm at the Wilkin home, 972-392-1486. |

Beginning in September, Disciple Bible Studies is a 32 to 34 weeks intensive study of the Bible in a small group, covenantal setting. Disciple I covers the entire Bible. Disciple II, III, and IV are more intensive studies of specific areas of the Bible, including the Letters of St. Paul, the Prophets, Luke, Acts and Genesis.. Spring Valley UMC offers these courses from September through mid-May. For additional information, contact

Thursday Morning Bible Study - This is the oldest continuous Bible study group in our church. It began around 1960 and has met every Thursday since, Thanksgiving excepted. Both men and women are welcome. |

United Methodist Women - United Methodist Women is an organized group of women who helps in missions locally and world-wide. Spring Valley's UMW meets the second Monday of every month in Asbury Hall.
Next month's meeting is March 12 at 11:30 with Janis Dumas from Neighborhood Service Council presenting "Pass it On: Legacy to our Daughters."

Stephen Ministry - Stephen Ministers is a lay program that works to define our congregation as a warm, loving, nurturing community where people are cherished and cared for in Jesus Christ After 50 hours of training, lay caregivers provide one-on-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, reloated, and others facing a crisis. Nueva Vida's Bible Study is a weekly Bible study in member homes that attracts 15-20 Mission Nueva Vida (New Life) members on Wedneday evenings at 6pm. The group sings several hymns, prays and discusses Bible passages. Pastor Carlos Nascimento interjects questions as everyone exchanges ideas.
