Spring Valley in Missions
Spring Valley UMC has been actively involved in the Habitat for Humanity mission since the early 1990s. As a local mission outreach project, we help build homes for deserving low income families in the Dallas area who might otherwise never have the opportunity to own a home.
Spring Valley UMC is a member of Richardson Area Interfaith Habitat (Richardson Interfaith). This organization of eleven interfaith congregations from the North Dallas/Richardson communities builds houses for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.
As in the past, Richardson Interfaith will be building two Habitat Houses in 2008. While all Habitat homes are special these two houses are significant to Richardson Interfaith. The spring build, which begins on March 7th, will be Richardson Interfaith's 25th Habitat house. Then in the fall, Richardson Interfaith will be honored with the building of Dallas Habitat's 700th house. Construction on the second house is scheduled to start on September 6th.
Volunteers from Spring Valley as well as the other Richardson Interfaith congregations are encouraged to support and participate in these upcoming events.
