Spring Valley in Missions

Habitat for Humanity

Spring Valley UMC has been actively involved in the Habitat for Humanity mission since the early 1990s. As a local mission outreach project, we help build homes for deserving low income families in the Dallas area who might otherwise never have the opportunity to own a home.

Spring Valley UMC is a member of Richardson Area Interfaith Habitat (Richardson Interfaith). This organization of eleven interfaith congregations from the North Dallas/Richardson communities builds houses for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.

Richardson Interfaith dedicated its 31st Habitat house on November 12, 2011. The house is located at 2814 Valentine St in the Bon Ton neighborhood near Hwy 175 and Municipal St. We will begin construction of our 32nd Habitat house on March 17, 2012.

Our goal is to build two houses in 2012 at a total cost of $120,000. The annual fund-raising Walk-A-Thon will be held on February 25th. We need your help to achieve the goal.
