The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 18. Join Pastor Frank for a Lenten Bible study- from Matthew, of course! The class will meet on Wednesdays during Lent (February 25 – April 1), from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Lent for Everyone: Matthew, Year A offers an inspirational guide through the Lenten season, from Ash Wednesday through the week after Easter. Popular biblical scholar and author N. T. Wright provides his own Scripture translation, a brief reflection, and a prayer for each day of the season, helping readers consider how the text is relevant to their lives. By the end of the book, readers will have completed the entire book of Matthew, along with Psalm readings for each Sunday. Suitable for both individual and group study and reflection, Wright's Lenten devotional will help make Matthew's gospel your own, thoughtfully and prayerfully, and your journey through Lent a period of discovery and growth.
The church will purchase books ($20 each), or you can save by purchasing your own. Even if you do not participate in the study, the books will be a great tool for your Lenten devotionals!
Or you can save a couple of bucks by purchasing the book yourself from one of these sources: Cokesbury or Amazon.
