A myth is not a fairy tale. Myths are foundational stories we tell ourselves to make sense of our lives and our world.
It’s great and it’s grace when our myths lead into health and wholeness. It’s hurtful and harmful when they guide us into distrust and division.
When was the last time you took some time to think about your myths, particularly in light of God’s love in Jesus. As the Psalmist says, “Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Perhaps life could be better if you busted a few myths!
